1. The importance of original editorial content

More than half of respondents (58%) agreed that original editorial content is the most important form of content within their social media marketing strategy, even above images (19%) and videos (12%).

For those who have something valuable to share, written content is an excellent resource to position themselves as an opinion leader within any industry. LinkedIn knows this very well and that is why it launched its publishing platform for all its members at the beginning of February.

Beyond this, it is also important to highlight that, due to the latest updates to the Google algorithm with Panda 4.0 , the creation of original and quality content becomes the main resource to achieve the top positions in the search engine.

2. Blogging, the biggest area of ​​growth

Over the past few years, blogging has increased in importance significantly, from priority #4 in 2012 to #3 in 2013, and finally becoming priority number one in 2014. So much so that 68% of respondents will increase their blogging activity, compared to 16% who will keep it stable, 14% who will not use it, and only 2% who will decrease it.

3. Google+ popularity is on the rise
