Make sure you are reachable

Post by Arzina3225 »

Watching videos by Enzo Knol , Kalvijn or the YouTubers of Concentrate no longer feels like an obligation, but as genuine entertainment. Nowadays I enjoy going to concerts by artists like Ronnie Flex, Lil' Kleine and Broederliefde. If you want to be successful within such a difficult target group, you almost have to be one with your audience. In terms of age, I am outside of it, but for the feeling and the experience I am right in the middle of it. If you also want to work with such a target group, it is important that you really immerse yourself in these teenagers. I am convinced that only then can you create effective content.

3. Feedback
Feedback has been very important for the growth process of NOS Kort. We have asked our audience for their opinion on every change and major change on and about the account. This could be about, for example, the colour of our logo, the font of the subtitles, the subjects in our videos and the number of videos that we publish in a day. Followers did not give their opinion for nothing: we have always implemented the result of such a post. Whether we agreed with it or not.

Asking for so much feedback had two main reasons: we learned in a good way what our target group was waiting for and we were able to involve them much more with the brand from the very beginning. Followers got the idea that they had influence on the account. Nowadays we still ask for feedback, for example about Famous Friday guests , but less often than before. With so many followers it is more difficult to ask for feedback.

You also have to be easily reachable when giving feedback. Followers can send us a private message (DM) on Instagram, email us and since 2016 send us a WhatsApp. Our followers made eager use russian phone number list of this on the first day: we received more than 900 apps. And yes, we responded to every message of course.

Try to involve your audience in your brand yourself. Ask them for their opinion and then show them what you do with that opinion. They will feel more involved in the account and the brand that way.

What now?
In 2015, I started another channel for teenagers within NOS: Snaplines on Snapchat. In 2016, NOS Mashup , our YouTube channel, was added. All three brands make news for the same target group. From 2018, those channels on Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube will continue under the same, new brand name. What that will be, is not yet clear. All journalists, designers and animators are now in one place on the news floor and work intensively together. Something that once started as an experiment is now fully embraced by the organization. As a result, the content is even better and I am certain that NOS is and will remain the largest news platform for teenagers for the time being.

For me, this adventure is coming to an end. After almost four years at NOS, I will start working as an Influencer Manager at a friend of mine , a content marketing agency in Amsterdam, starting January 1st.
